AGRONOMIC LOW COST INTERVENTIONS

INTRODUCTION

By low cost intervention, we mean those interventions of soil and water conservation which are locally available and applicable with low cost. Some of them are biological while others are engineered structures which will be constructed with very low cost.

BENEFITS OF AGRONOMIC LOW-COST INTERVENTIONS

  • It’s a simple check dam
  • Uses local material for the intervention
  • Made with low cost
  • If roots and shoots develop, it can form a long term barrier

Protecting 2,000 acres of land from erosionby 800 Agronomic low cost interventions.

TARGETED IMPACTS

  • About 800 low cost agronomic interventions will be carried out during the project.
  • Approximately 2000 acres of land will be saved from erosion due to these low cost interventions.
  • A total of 24000 farmers will be engaged in farming activities with these interventions.
  • Temporary employment will also be generated for the 24000 labor for these low cost interventions construction.
